Christianity is lived and practiced in the home. Living Word encourages husbands and fathers to daily teach their families about Jesus. This is a sacred responsibility given by God. It\u2019s can feel daunting and it\u2019s tempting to outsource it, but let us find joy in teaching and learning of our Savior together at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to regular Service attendance, Living Word urges each family to use The Congregation at Prayer<\/a> so that young and old are grounded in the way of the Lord. The Story Bible<\/a> is provided to all parents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parents assist their children in catechesis by studying and praying with them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the devotions found here<\/a> are the work of a few confessional Lutheran pastors. They are beneficial for young and old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luther’s Morning Prayer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the morning when you get up, make the sign of the holy cross and say:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, kneeling or standing, repeat the Creed and the Lord\u2019s Prayer. If you choose, you may also say this little prayer:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
