\u201cThe purpose of Living Word Lutheran Church…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

is to serve all people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the basis of the Holy Scriptures\u201d (Living Word Constitution, Art. III, sect. 1). We are unashamed of that Gospel and believe that our Incarnate Lord lavishes it on us in the Word and the Blessed Sacraments. This Divine Service is the heart of our congregation. It is God\u2019s work not ours; through Word and Sacraments, the Holy Spirit works faith and strengthens faith where He pleases (Augustana V). By our words, dress, ceremonies, and architecture, Living Word strives to confess this Gospel in Mission Viejo. This Divine Service transcends our ethnicity, language, and interests to unite us to Christ and to one another. It’s beautiful and inspiring, reverent, and dignified. Its Lutheran influence is unmistakeable. Come and discover God’s peace and joy in this chaotic world.

Confessing Christ
in Word and Sacrament<\/sub><\/sup><\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Biblical<\/span>
The only rule for doctrine and life, Living Word believes, teaches, and confesses that all Scripture is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evangelical<\/span>
God gives the Gospel of the forgiveness of sins, freeing us from the shackles of sin, guilt, and shame.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacramental<\/span>
Heaven and earth blend when the risen Lord tangibly gives Himself and His forgiveness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confessional
<\/span>We stand on the Scriptures rightly expressed in the Christian Creeds and the Book of Concord. These teachings have not changed in 2000 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liturgical<\/span>
More than words, our actions speak. Our ceremonies confess the bodily presence of Christ and the forgiveness He bestows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Historical
