“These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
and that by believing you may have life in His name.” – John 20:31
Scripture is large book. However, it is easily accessible. God wants all to be saved and gave us the Scriptures so we don’t have to guess what He wants for my life or how He saves me.
The difficulty arises when we try to conform Scripture to our desires instead of conforming our desires to Scripture. These adult studies seek to reinforce scriptural truths, reveal the unity of Scripture in Christ, and apply them to us.
Sunday Morning Bible Class
Adult Bible study takes place every Sunday morning beginning at 11:00am and ending at 12:00pm. In this class we cover the Holy Scriptures in a more thorough way by expounding, discussing, and applying its teachings.
Women’s Bible Study
On Tuesday morning, the women of Living Word gather at 10:00am in Beyersdorf Hall for Bible study, conversation, and the occasion snack. Topics vary throughout the year.
Men’s Convivium
On a quarterly basis, the men of the congregation provide for all members and non-members a dinner and an appropriate speaker. (The gathering is not restricted to men.) Past speakers include pastors and laymen presenting on Art and Beauty, the Human Body, the Comfort of Lutheranism, etc. All speakers are approved by Pastor and the elders. The evening ends with Vespers. Contact the parish to inquire about the next Convivium.
Gatherings
Living Word regularly gathers around food and conversation. Most occur after Bible Class on Sunday morning. The children eat and play while the adults eat and enjoy each other’s company. Contact the parish office to learn about the next gather.
